Our Board and Staff

JENNIFER HYNEK
Co-Founder and President of the Board

Jennifer spent her childhood in a military family, moving from place to place, but considers Iowa the closest thing to a childhood home. As Co-Founder of LOA Youth Ranch, Jennifer wears many hats: from homeschooling her two children to administrative duties to mini-pig wrangling, you can usually find her caring for LOA in a variety of ways. Advocacy and healing for women and kids living in domestic violence situations are causes that are close to her heart. Before moving to Spokane in 2017, Jennifer spent her time volunteering at Scooter’s Place and helping with adaptive riding lessons and barn care. If you pop in on her during a rare free moment, you might find her sipping strawberry lemonade, going for walks around the track or hanging out in the garden.

“Do everything in love.” -1 Corinthians 16:14

CHUCK HYNEK
Co-Founder and Board Member

Chuck was born in Port Angeles and moved nine years later to Port Orchard, WA where he spent the majority of his childhood and later met his wife. He likes modeling and building practical things as well as horseback riding in his free time. As a Commercial Construction Superintendent/Project Manager, he most enjoys working on building projects and facilities at The Ranch. Before he moved to Spokane in 2017, he co-led the men’s ministry and helped build and manage small groups at his home church. He is passionate about using the resources that God has blessed him with to be a blessing to others in Jesus’ name. If you’re trying to become fast friends with Chuck, pick him up a nonfat mocha next time you swing through the Starbucks drive-thru or invite him to join you in some Jeremy Camp karaoke.

“I can do all things through Christ which stengtheneth me.” -Philippians 4:13

Jeff Hunsaker ( Board Member)

I am a lifelong Spokane resident, graduating from Mead High School, Eastern Washington University and Moody Bible Institute. I started a second career in real estate in 2017 after spending 25 years working in the blood and plasma industry. I am a committed husband and father and will be celebrating 28 years of marriage with my wife Shani in March. Shani and I have 5 kids, with 3 still at home: ages ranging from 10 to 21. I served as a deacon and then as an elder for Northview Bible Church in Spokane from 2016 through 2021. As I work toward a degree in Pastoral Counseling, I am hoping to apply any acquired skills and knowledge to further His kingdom however I am directed. In my spare time I enjoy tinkering with various projects on our small hobby farm near Deer Park, WA.

My favorite Bible verse is John 20:28 which states, ‘Thomas replied, “My Lord and my God!”’

Shani Hunsaker ( Board Member)

Shani grew up (the oldest of 5 children) in Kirkland, WA and then attended
Eastern Washington University (BA in Education) where she met her
husband of 28 years, Jeff. They have 5 children, 3 biological and 2 adopted
from foster care, ranging in age from 11-22. She has homeschooled them
for the past 12 years and also enjoys teaching a few classes at the local
parent partnership programs. She has volunteered in the various children’s
programs at her church since she started having kids as well. She loves to
see kids learn new things and discover their own potential by challenging
themselves. In her spare time, she enjoys watching movies, organizing
anything, reading books, and playing games with her family. She is excited
about this opportunity to be involved with the LOA Youth Ranch to use her
love language by serving families and children in our area.

Favorite Bible Verse: Colossians 2:6-7 So then, just as you received Christ
Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him,
strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with
thankfulness
